The Caregiver at Wounded Knee Book Review

The Caregiver at Wounded Knee was a moving, honest historical story. The author does a fantastic job honoring the tragedy at Wounded Knee. It was an honor to read this book as the anniversary date of the massacre approaches. Amidst the horror of this massacre, caused by misunderstandings and vengeance between the Lakota and settlers, Debby Lee weaves a wonderful, soft love story and themes of healing, forgiveness, and grace. As the light of Christ is a stark contrast to the darkness in the world, it was beautifully shown through this story!
I received a copy from NetGalley to honestly review. All opinions are my own.

Light to my Path by Erica Vetsch Book Review

I flew through reading this book! Light to my Path by Erica Vetsch is one of my favorite authors! This book had a unique plot- Sam Mackenzie (brother of David in book one) does a favor to his aunt to watch over Ellie and the orphans she is traveling with. The children were my absolute favorite!! I think Phin has his own book or novella in one of the other books in this series. Vetsch’s plots are always well written, characters are dynamic, and the romance is super sweet and focuses on the friendship. I loved that we go to see Sam’s brother, David and Karen in this book as well. I liked Sam’s character in book one, so it was so fun to see his story!

YA Book Feature: The Beauty Thief by Rachael Ritchey

The Beauty ThiefMy Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this action-packed adventure! It reminded me a little of Melanie Dickerson’s fairytale retellings. I loved the strong themes of what real inner beauty is, and I think this is a perfect fantasy adventure for any fairytale lover.Violence: mild, only a few non-descriptive deaths and battles. Clean and tactful.Language:

YA Book Review Feature: The Broken Crown by Amory Cannon

My Review: This book is going on my top reads of 2026! I loved this story so much! It is part of a series, so it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, but enough was resolved by the end of this book to be satisfying! I LOVED the strong faith woven deep into the characters, who faced a lot of persecution and the challenges of their various stations, along with the risk of losing their lives and risking others by sharing their faith. The writing is beautiful and engaging, and the author builds a beautiful world with some themes similar to Esther’s story in the Bible. She dives into many questions surrounding what to do when your faith is challenged and sharing the truth with others when (the characters’) world is under heavy persecution. It’s very low fantasy with an easily grasped fantasy world, which I liked as someone who gets easily confused.
